MarTEL Phase R test will provide ratings with the level of maritime English required to sail on EU flag fleets and thereby enable competences and qualifications to be transferred across Europe as well as providing opportunities for seafarers within the industry who currently face a disadvantage.

MarTEL Enhanced Oral Test aims to ensure the speaking capability of seafarers across Europe are of a good standard and to raise the quality of training for ratings regarding their ability to speak and understand maritime English.
